Hey all!
You know that you take family pics etc.
And you put all theese on the PC and they are "safe".
But a powersurge, or a tiny fault in the hard drive (where everythings stored)
could result in your photos becoing magnetic dust.
Or unreadable. Shock while the drive is running, a bad shutdown or even pulling the plug can cause that.
And then theres logical problems like corruption.
With irreplaceable stuff like photos, would you really want to take that chance?
Backup media is cheap. like CD-RS (get good quality ones!)
External media etc.
I even store copies offsite (away from my house).
I lost over 5 years of ireeplacable stuff. just because i thought they were safe and sound.
